Virgil Miller LAc. M.Ac.O.M

Hello! I may not have been named after the Greek poet Virgil, but like to think that my name beckons ancient wisdom - if not in the area of poetry in particular but in herbal and the ancient art and medicine of acupuncture. I’m named after my late Grandpa Virgil, a humbled Eastern Colorado Farmer.

Growing up in Colorado I spent a large majority of my childhood hiking in the mountains and communing with nature and plants. It was a natural choice for me to study natural medicine. My mom had been chasing me around the house with an echinacea tincture before I could speak. Nurturing and caring for life whether it’s plants or my patients is a lifelong passion, and I’ve helped thousands of Alaskan’s heal their body’s and their selves to the point life feels a return of hopefulness. It’s not the condition that I treat but the whole person, taking time and listening to my patients unique needs and preferences in how they’ll work towards the life they always dreamed.

Annette McDowell LAc., MAcOm, CYT

Hi, I’m Annette, acupuncturist, certified yoga instructor and co-founder of this clinic.

I’m known by family and friends as a good listener with a quirky sense of humor. One of my parents is a Nurse and the other is a Taxidermist and Bush Pilot Guide, so blazing new trails while being rooted in natural health and nurturing has always been my way. I’m a born and raised Alaskan, but I lived nearly half a decade in San Diego, CA and another in Portland, OR. Living near major metropolis’s gave me a taste for different flavors and cultures of the world. There is so much beyond the standard American way of living that can increase quality of life.

Atmosphere - Creating a quiet and contemplative space for healing to occur at it’s own pace. I’ve been told I have a calming presence and feel that is true.

Philosophy - Everyone has a light in them and deserves compassion. In the words of the leader of a meditation group leader Yogiraj Gurunath ‘earth peace, through self peace,’ promoting peace in the individual and the world is a closely value held of mine. On that note I appreciate close to the earth living.

When I’m not at working on an aspect of the healing practice, I’m homeschooling my daughters and cooking for my family. Some say it’s superwoman, I just call it following my life’s destiny. My ‘free’ time is spent studying history, reading non-fiction, playing guitar and singing, and working on my amateur crochet and knitting skills.
